![]() I tend to use torrents mainly and when I do use direct download I rarely have problems with session failures. Personally I don't use a download manager since I can get by without one. In general download managers are a lot more flexible and provide features you don't get through the basic browser interface. It happens more rarely with jDownloader and IDM, but still it's something to be aware of. Some servers don't allow this type of download so in those cases a download manager may fail to work. One issue with download managers is they rely on the ability to make multiple connections to a server. There's some other features download managers offer you don't get with a browser such as multiple streams that improve speeds and the ability to handle multiple links. A download manager doesn't have that problem. If the session gets interrupted the download fails and has to be restarted, in other words browsers can't resume a download after a session is lost. Web browsers have a minimal interface for downloading. ![]()
